Is it heated, and at what price?
Many villas charge heating as an extra, sometimes several hundred euros a week. Here it is included in the rate, like electricity, water and Wi-Fi.
Is there shade nearby?
A pool without shade is unusable from one to four in July. The terraces at Villa Terra are shaded and the pool house lets you stay outside without full sun.
Is it supervised or secured?
Almost never, and you should know it. The pool is an infinity design and unsupervised. The grounds are enclosed across 5,300 m², but no arrangement replaces an adult present with young children.
Who maintains it during the stay?
A poorly kept pool becomes unusable after three hot days. Maintenance runs throughout the stay, without you having to ask or notice.

Why it is not only aesthetic
An infinity pool makes the waterline disappear into the landscape — that is the argument everyone makes. The real benefit lies elsewhere: the surface is continuously swept towards the channel, which keeps the water clear even with fourteen people and wind carrying maquis dust.
What we do not claim
The pool is neither covered, nor alarmed, nor supervised. The grounds are enclosed with no through traffic, which rules out intrusion but not a child left alone for two minutes. We repeat this to every family with young children, and it appears in the rental terms.
A pool used after five in the afternoon
Ten minutes from the beaches, the pool does not replace the sea: it takes over at the hours when the beaches are saturated and at those when they are empty. In July and August that means between eleven and five, and then at sunset.

Is there shade around the pool?
Yes: covered terraces, pool house, olive trees and pines. It is a decisive criterion in July and August, when a pool without shade becomes unusable between one and four.
Who maintains the pool during the stay?
Maintenance runs throughout the stay, with nothing required from you. A pool left untreated becomes unusable within a few days of high heat — a question worth asking any owner.
What does an infinity edge really change?
Beyond the visual effect, the water surface is continuously swept towards the channel. The water stays clear even with fourteen people and in wind carrying maquis dust — which is not the case for a conventional pool in the same conditions.
Does the pool replace the beach?
No, it complements it. The beaches of Saint-Cyprien and Cala Rossa are ten minutes away. In July and August they are saturated between eleven and five: it is precisely then, and at sunset, that the pool is used most.
